On June 10, 2021 Stark & Stark Shareholder Deborah Dunn was sworn in as Parliamentarian of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) at the annual Installation Ceremony in Gladstone, NJ. NJAJ is the largest organization for trial attorneys in the State of New Jersey dedicated to the Plaintiff’s bar. NJAJ arms litigants with better equipped advocates through its numerous educational opportunities and gives litigants a voice in the State House and the courthouse on issues that are critical to the profession, such as ending forced arbitration, holding insurance companies accountable to their insured and keeping the courthouse doors open to all civil litigants. Deborah not only is a champion for her client’s on a state level, but also an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the national trial lawyers association sharing NJAJ’s mission.
Ms. Dunn, Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney, is thrilled to continue her work on NJAJ’s Board of Governors as Parliamentarian. As an officer of NJAJ, she will be able to have a more direct impact on the organization and the plight of her clients. By achieving this position, she is in line to become NJAJ’s President. Ms. Dunn is excited for the upcoming year in this new role. “NJAJ has given me so much since I became a member in 2009,” she explained. “I am a better lawyer and a stronger advocate for my clients because of NJAJ’s educational programs, leadership opportunities, and professional support. I have been a member of NJAJ’s Board of Governors since 2017 and I am humbled at the opportunity to serve as an officer of the organization.”
Ms. Dunn has devoted most of her career as a trial attorney, serving New Jersey citizens by handling difficult personal injury cases, standing up for and giving a voice to injured people. In addition to her work as a trial attorney and her work with NJAJ and AAJ, she is the Chairman of the Board of Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction (Mercer Council), a nonprofit organization focused on helping individuals and families out of addiction. She has served New Jersey citizens through her work on the Board of the Mercer Council for over 14 years. Ms. Dunn is also on the Board of The Parker Mother and Child Foundation, which helps provide an education to young women in Africa. She also serves on a number of different committees including Stark & Stark’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
