Over the past weekend, Stark & Stark employees participated in the Capital Area YMCA’s 5K at Mercer County Park, which had been postponed from its original September 2021 date due to the pandemic. Stark & Stark took 1st place as the largest fundraising team, raising over $4,000 for the YMCA. The 5K raised over $100,000 for the YMCA to use to support the local community.
“I am proud of Stark & Stark’s fundraising efforts for the YMCA and I am thankful to those who participated in the 5K,” said Managing Shareholder Michael Donahue. “As part of the Capital Area YMCA’s Board of Directors, I am grateful that Stark & Stark gives back to the community where we live and work.”
This fundraiser has helped to support meals for the underserved and homeless (800,000 meals and counting), support school-aged children as they navigate the “new normal” of the post-COVID crisis, help teens develop leadership skills, and support seniors’ physical, social, and emotional needs, among many other endeavors.
“Stark & Stark has a long history of supporting the Capital Area YMCA. Members of our firm have served and continue to serve on its board of directors, and in recent years, our support of their Annual Y5k event has increased tremendously,” said COO Greg Deatz. “I am proud of our Stark & Stark team for not only taking first place as the largest fundraising team, but for contributing to a wonderful day that helped bring awareness to the amazing work that the Capital Area YMCA performs in our own community.“
Congratulations to everyone on our Stark & Stark team who placed in the race!
