I’m pleased to share that my involvement in the recent New Jersey Supreme Court case, *Keyworth v. Care One,* led to a significant victory for transparency and accountability in the healthcare sector. The court’s decision to reverse the defendant’s claims and mandate the disclosure of incident reports within nursing homes and assisted living facilities marks a crucial step forward in protecting the rights of residents and their families.
As the author of the brief on behalf of the NJAJ that was presented to the court, I focused on the importance of full disclosure in ensuring that these facilities uphold the highest standards of care. This ruling not only reinforces the responsibility of care providers but also empowers families to seek justice when their loved ones are harmed.
I’m honored to have played a role in this case and to contribute to a precedent that will improve the oversight and quality of care in New Jersey’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
