Stark & Stark is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting a panel discussion on October 14, 2021 at noon (12:00pm) on “Legal Issues Specific to Hispanic/Latinx Clients, Litigants and Professionals.” This panel discussion explores the unique issues Hispanic legal professionals face in their careers and how to overcome them. The panel will also look at specific considerations that attorneys and judges should be aware of when dealing with Hispanic clients and litigants.
There are an estimated 60 Billion Self-Identified Hispanics living in the United States. While this makes up 18.4 percent of our population, less than 8 percent of federal judges and 5 percent of attorneys in the U.S. are Hispanic. Additionally, Hispanics are more than 3 times as likely to be incarcerated when charged with crimes than non-Hispanic Whites. This panel discussion explores the unique issues faced by Hispanic legal professionals in their careers and how to overcome them. The panel will also look at specific considerations that attorneys and judges should be aware of when dealing with Hispanic clients and litigants.
This discussion will feature a panel of Melinda Cox-Colon, Esq., Jonathan Barrera, Esq., Evelyn Padin, Esq., and Juan Cartagena, Esq.
