John Sakson is an Of-Counsel attorney former Chair of the Accident & Personal Injury practice, a position he held from 1990 – 2018. Mr. Sakson joined Stark & Stark in February, 1979 and concentrates his practice in the area of catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death. Mr. Sakson is an expert Civil Trial Attorney as certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Sakson initially earned certification in 1983, and he has been continually re-certified up to the present. He is a courtroom veteran, having tried many cases to verdict in courthouses across New Jersey.
Mr. Sakson served two terms as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Board on Trial Attorney Certification. He was appointed to this position by the New Jersey Supreme Court in 1993 and his two-term limit expired in 1999. He served two terms as Chair of the Certified Trial Attorneys section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and he is a former two-term President of the Mercer County Bar Association. He has held numerous leadership positions in the New Jersey State Bar Association, including serving two terms as the Mercer County Trustee to the NJSBA, and serving as the Chair of the State Bar Nominating Committee.
Mr. Sakson was Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1995, and in 2012, he earned an additional Board Certification as a Civil Pretrial Practice Advocate from the National Board of Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy.
Mr. Sakson served as a member of Stark & Stark’s Executive Committee from 1985 – 1999, and was elected Co-Managing Shareholder (along with Lewis Pepperman, Esq.) of the law firm from 1999 until 2014.
He is a frequent lecturer at New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education programs and other courses. He co-authored the popular book New Jersey Auto Insurance: A Consumer’s Guide.
