Recently, Shareholder Evan J. Lide and his team obtained an $850,000 settlement for a woman who slipped and fell on ice in Mercer County when entering her workplace first thing in the morning. As a result of her fall, she suffered a neck injury requiring two surgeries.
“This case involved the Ongoing Storm doctrine, and we were able to prove that the property owner increased the risk of harm to our client by failing to maintain the parking lot,” said Evan. “The parking lot had deteriorated over time and allowed for puddles to form, which eventually would create patches of ice.
