In early January 2024, Pennsylvania State Police announced the arrest of a Harborcreek Youth Services employee for institutional sexual assault against a minor at the facility’s Harborcreek Township location.
Shaquon M. Thrower, 28, was charged with third-degree felony counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor and corruption of minors, and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors. He was arraigned in Lawrence Park Township District Court after surrendering to police.

Harborcreek Youth Services is a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare agency that provides in-home healthcare services to children and families throughout Pennsylvania. It has a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility and Residential Program for boys aged 10 to 18 in Harborcreek.
