What Was Found in The Water at Camp Lejeune?
Testing has shown that the water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, was essentially a toxic soup, containing some of the most poisonous compounds known to man, such as:
- Vinyl chloride
- Trichloroethylene (TCE)
- Benzene
- Perchloroethylene (PCE)
These compounds have been proven to cause serious injuries, cancers, and, in some cases, death.
Many individuals suffering the effects of Camp Lejeune toxic water exposure have already qualified for benefits through the Veterans Administration (VA). Now, a new law seeks to permit victims crucial additional rights – the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2021.

How Do I Know if I Qualify for a Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Lawsuit Claim?
Under the new law, which is subject to change, you must be able to prove:
- You resided, worked, or were otherwise exposed (including in utero exposure) to Camp Lejeune or MCAS New River water for not less than 30 cumulative days;
- Your exposure took place between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987; and
- You suffered a related injury, including, but not limited to:
-
- Leukemia
- Aplastic anemia and other myelodysplastic syndromes
- Bladder cancer
- Kidney cancer
- Liver cancer
- Multiple myeloma
- Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
- Parkinson’s disease
- Esophageal cancer
But you will have a limited time to file a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. In many, but not all, cases, that time is just two years from the passage of the new law.
