On June 17th, Stark & Stark hosted a Family Fun Day and Juneteenth Celebration for its employees and their families at Liberty Lake with food, outdoor activities, music, and a special visual storytelling presentation about Juneteenth by mime artist Rodney Green. The firm’s employees spent the afternoon showing off their competitiveness in games of mini golf and cornhole, cooling down by swimming and paddle boating, and enjoying a buffet style meal at the park’s pavilion. Rodney Green’s visual storytelling presentation about Juneteenth was a powerful reminder of past struggles and injustice, but also provided a hopeful and optimistic outlook for the future.
The Family Fun Day and Juneteenth Celebration was planned by Stark & Stark’s Quality of Life Committee (QLC) and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI). The QLC is dedicated to helping firm employees maintain a successful work-life balance. The DE&I Committee is comprised of employees from each of our offices, who meet regularly to monitor the progress of the firm’s inclusion and diversity efforts and the forging of a closer alliance with the various national, regional, and local diversity organizations.
