Simon’s Heart has welcomed Stark & Stark Shareholder Jeffrey A. Krawitz to their Board of Directors. Simon’s Heart’s mission is “to create and advance innovative and evidence-based programs, policies, and research that prevent sudden cardiac arrest and death in children, teens, and young adults.”
Mr. Krawitz and his family have been involved with the organization for almost 15 years. After attending one of Simon’s Fund’s first heart screenings, Mr. Krawitz’s daughter discovered she had a hole in her heart that needed surgical repair, and was also diagnosed with a condition known as Long QT Syndrome. From that moment on, they were happy to be involved in the organization and help support its mission in any way they could. Initially, Mr. Krawitz and his wife were on the planning committee for events such as Simon’s Soiree and the annual golf outing. As a board member, Jeff hopes to expand and grow the organization’s awareness both nationally and internationally, while also helping with revenue generation.
“To be involved since the beginning and now being a board member, to me it’s an incredible honor,” Krawitz expressed. “I’m excited to help Simon’s Heart grow beyond a local organization. Even though it is getting a national presence, I’d like to see it go beyond that to help mandate heart screenings for babies, school-aged kids, athletes, and more. To me, this is all about saving children and saving lives. I’m looking forward to seeing how this organization grows in the next 15 years.”
Mr. Krawitz concentrates his practice in casualty litigation focusing on complex injury matters. This practice is highly concentrated on professional liability claims with a specific focus on medical negligence. He also has, and continues to, litigate claims arising from motor vehicle and commercial transportation accidents, many of which involve catastrophic damages.
