On January 28, 2021, Stark & Stark attorney Chinsu Shajan, Esq. was installed as Co-Secretary of the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey (SABA-NJ). Chinsu has been involved with this organization since 2016 when she was in law school.
As Co-Secretary, Chinsu’s responsibilities include keeping all members of the organization involved and aware of important internal updates. She will work closely with the Executive Board by keeping track of meeting minutes, brainstorming different ideas for potential events, drafting event flyers, and more. Another main responsibility is keeping everything organized.
“I’m very excited to take on this role to effect change within the organization,” Chinsu stated. “As a younger member of the Executive Board, I will bring a unique voice and perspective to the table. SABA-NJ has introduced me to many new people who share similar backgrounds, interests, and goals with me, not only within the legal community, but within the South Asian Community as a whole. I’m eager to see what we as a Board can accomplish this year to make SABA-NJ an even better organization.”
SABA-NJ is comprised of about 250 members, including attorneys, judges, and law students, and is dedicated to the needs, concerns, and interests of the South Asian community in New Jersey. SABA-NJ supports its members’ professional development and advancement through networking opportunities, educational events, mentoring, and advocacy.
Chinsu is an Associate and member of Stark & Stark’s Accident and Personal Injury Group.
